November 5, 2024 was a dark day when our fears became reality and we learned that Donald Trump was going to be president again. However, on November 4, 2025, hope returned as people across the nation stood up to him and the Republican Party and said, “No More”!
Thanks to your help with fundraising, phonebanking, and postcarding, both of our Sister District candidates, Lily Franklin and Nadarius Clark, WON their races!
That’s not all: every single Sister District candidate in Virginia won this year, helping to protect and expand Democratic leadership in the state. Across the state and across the nation, Democrats also celebrated big wins including holding the Virginia House of Delegates and flipping the governorship – delivering a Democratic trifecta! Abigail Spanberger will be the first female governor of Virginia, and Sister District alumna Ghazala Hashmi, the first Muslim woman ever elected to a statewide office, will be lieutenant governor. This ensures that extremist legislation won’t roll back hard-won progress. We know now more than ever that states have the power to hold the line against the wave of cruelty and hard-line policies coming from the national level.
Thank you for not giving into despair and keeping hope alive. By believing in people-powered politics, we are standing up when it matters most.

What You Can Do Now
The shutdown of the government by the Republican Party is hurting people all across the country. SNAP benefits have run out leaving the most vulnerable without food. We can’t wait for them to release our tax dollars to feed those in need – we have to help now. If you are able to, please consider donating or volunteering.
